My Story

As a photographer of "life" and "happenings", photography to me is about people: creating "real" images and capturing life just as it is.

I have always taken loads of photos and I decided to "be" a photographer in 2003 and hatched a plan to make it my life.. and ta dar i've been a professional photographer now for the last 5 years and it's great!

I was awarded a PG Photography from Central St Martins in 2009 and I am currently working (part-time) on my MA in photography at Brighton University; I am continuing to study photography because I love it and I am totally submerged in photography and art every day...well other than a friday when I am "supposed" to do my accounts!

Based in my attic, by the sea in Brighton, I am free to work anywhere in the UK, in fact anywhere in the world – as long as it's warm!

Commercial commissions

Press, events and performance – catching the action and energy at any event ... and if they are not there, setting up and creating the shot.

Portraits – my personal style and creativity lend themselves to naturally lit portraits, using locations and props relevant to the sitter's personality. And it goes without saying that I also shoot in a studio.

With a background in marketing and PR, I have the unique ability to understand what you are aiming to achieve, which allows me to produce and create images that capture your brand and message with or without a brief.

Personal photography

My passion lies within observational reportage. I am interested in those moments when people let down their guard and show themselves as they truly are. My approach is that of an observer, exploring and exposing how people see themselves and what they choose to show to others.

My recent project (Girls UnScene), deliberately taken without the consent of the subjects, reveals the hidden details of, and the exchanges and interactions between, females in night-club toilets, showing them in unguarded moments when behind closed doors. This series is original, engaging and entertaining.
