2012 has been a busy year and I have ended the year back in London after 6 years in Brighton. The major highlight has been completing my MA in Photography at the University of Brighton with works the Art of Smoking, Fervour and my final work Embrace which was selected to be show as part of the Master in Photography at Universitat Politècnica de València as a showcase exhibition for MA Photography work across Europe. The Embrace series was also show as part of the London Independent Photography Annual Show at The Strand Gallery, Deja-vu at the Dentist Gallery and Photomonth Open at RichMix Gallery. The Art of Smoking was selected as a finalist in the London Street Photography Awards at the Orange Dot Gallery. I also gave talks about my work at the Arts Forum in Brighton and I did my first Petcha Kutcha night as part of Brighton’s Mini Click talks held at the Old Market in Hove. Commercially, I was busy on corporate events, brands including Sailor Jerry, Virgin Media and festivals and events including my favourite Electric Elephant Festival. The most exciting of all new commissions have been the collaborations with Things&Ink Magazine with Tattooed Professionals and the work in preparation for issue 2 to be launched in February.
What’s in the plan for 2013….. ? well i’ve not moved back to London so I will be looking at re-establishing links and collaborations back in the smoke and I have several new project ideas up my sleeve including some trips which are well overdue to India and Hopefully Sierra Leone.. So watch this space!
